TROTTER AFFAIR ARCHIVES

2009: MOLC honored businessman and philantropist Earl Stafford, president and CEO of the Stafford Foundation, with the 2009 Decatur "Bucky" Trotter Humanitarian Award on May 28, 2009, at its 5th Annual Lighting Pathways Awards Dinner. MOLC also presented the Candle of Service Award to both social activist Dr. Dorothy Height, chair and president emeritus of the National Council of Negro Women, and Maudine Cooper, president of the Greater Washington Urban League.

2008: The 2008 Trotter Humanitarian Award was posthumously awarded to the Late Senator Gwendolyn T. Britt. Acknowledging their dedication to community, MOLC's Candle of Service was presented to Freddie Dawkins and Sylvester Vaughns. Through the generosity of Lighting Pathway partners, the fourth annual event grossed over $220,000. 2007: Samuel H. Dean (Prince George's County Council, District 6) received the Trotter Humanitarian Award.  Also recognized that evening with MOLC's Candle of Service was Celia Thompson, Betty Humphrey and Audrey Scott. event highlights.

2006:
Governer Robert Ehrlich was awarded the Trotter Humanitarian award in 2006. Governer Ehrlich's passion to lift others mirrors the Herculean role that Senator Trotter played in his quest to help people.  View event highlights.

2005: The late senator's wife, LaGreta Trotter was the recipient of the first Trotter Humanitarian Awards. Through warm-hearted and unselfish gestures of its sponsors and supporters, this inaugural event raised over $150,000.  View photos from the 2005 event.
