The Mission of Love Charities (MOLC) was founded by Dr. Douglas E. Edwards in 1990.  In 1992, MOLC was incorporated by Dr. Edwards with several concerned community leaders serving on the initial board who also recognized that governmental budget constraints had resulted in a steady erosion of essential services to an increasingly vulnerable population.  Today, what began as a one-man operation has grown into a well-structured organization that provides assistance throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region to over 10,000 disadvantaged citizens yearly.
